For me, the Icarus mythology parallels imagery I can relate to the AIDS epidemic…the struggle, the wasting, the panic of free fall when the governments’ slow responses had to be spurred on by groups like “Act Up”. It was up to our community to push for expansion of research for new solutions, expanded access to test drugs etc. I’m proud to be a member of such a community.
